Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective 2026-04-25. Published in compliance with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020 and RBI guidelines on prepaid digital services.

Launch promo (until 2026-07-15)

During the launch promo, BillForge is free for all features — no credit card required, no auto-charge after the promo ends. Refunds are not applicable since no payment is taken. You will receive an email + in-app notice 14 days before the promo ends with subscription options; you can cancel any time before opting into a paid plan with no charge.

Cancellation

Once paid plans go live (post-promo), you can cancel any time from Settings → Billing → Cancel subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle — your data and access remain unchanged until then.

On cancellation, no further charges apply. Your data is retained for 30 days (so you can re-subscribe and resume), then permanently deleted. Audit-log entries required by applicable law (CGST Section 36 — 6 years; Income Tax Act Section 44AA — 8 years) are retained per law.

Refund eligibility (post-promo)

For monthly plans:

  • Within 7 days of first payment — full refund, no questions asked.
  • After 7 days — no refund. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the cycle as above.

For annual plans:

  • Within 14 days of first annual payment — full refund.
  • After 14 days — pro-rata refund of the unused months, less any usage-based add-ons (e.g., SMS / WhatsApp credits, AI reconciliation overages) consumed during the period.

Non-refundable cases

We will not refund where:

  • The account was suspended for material breach of our Terms of Service (fraud, abuse, payment chargeback).
  • Usage-based add-ons (per-message SMS, per-document AI scan) have been consumed — these are billed on use and are non-refundable, similar to a phone-recharge.
  • The refund is requested more than 60 days after the original charge.

Refund process and timeline

Email billing@billforge.in from your registered email address with:

  • Your registered org / account name
  • Date of the charge to be refunded
  • Reason (optional but helpful)

We acknowledge within 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed within 7 business days to the original payment instrument. Bank credit time depends on your card / bank — typically 3–10 additional business days for Indian banks; international cards can take up to 21 days.

Failed payments

If your renewal payment fails, we'll retry 3 times over 7 days and notify you each time. After 3 failures your subscription is paused — read-only access continues for 14 days, then the account is frozen until you add a working payment method or cancel.

Disputes / chargebacks

We always prefer to resolve issues directly. If you raise a dispute or chargeback through your bank without first contacting us, the resulting investigation may take 30–90 days, during which the disputed amount is held by the gateway. We strongly recommend reaching out to billing@billforge.in first.
