Section numbers such as 44AD, 44ADA, 87A and 80C are the familiar Income-tax Act 1961 numbers; the 2025 Act, in force from 1 April 2026, renumbers them. Figures assume the taxpayer is under 60 (senior citizens have higher old-regime limits). Instalment dates: 15 June 2026, 15 September 2026, 15 December 2026, 15 March 2027. Assumes a resident individual under 60; senior citizens with no business income need not pay advance tax. This is a calculator, not tax advice. Frequently asked questions

Who has to pay advance tax?

Anyone whose tax for the year, after TDS, is ₹10,000 or more. Salaried people usually have it covered by TDS, but freelancers, consultants and business owners pay it themselves. Resident senior citizens without business income are exempt.

What are the advance tax due dates?

15 June (15% of the year's tax), 15 September (45%), 15 December (75%) and 15 March (100%). The shares are cumulative, so on 15 September you pay enough to bring the total to 45%.

What if I am under presumptive taxation?

Under 44AD and 44ADA you can pay the whole advance tax in one instalment by 15 March.

What happens if I miss a date?

Interest under section 234C (1% a month on the shortfall) and 234B can apply. Tax paid by 31 March still counts for the year, but it does not remove interest for the months you were late.

Is this a final figure?

No. It is an estimate from the income you enter, using the slabs we checked on the date shown on the page. Confirm with your CA before paying.
